Due to oppressive state-wide bans on gender-affirming medical care, hundreds of young trans folks no longer have access to the care they need. Trans youth in the Southern U.S. need our support now more than ever. We here at Feline Oracle want to do our part to take a stand against these unjust, transphobic laws, and get Trans youth the care and support they need to get through this difficult time. That's why we’ll be donating 100% of net proceeds from the sale of our pirate themed T-Shirts and tote bags to the Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project.
What is the
southern trans youth emergency project?
The STYEP is an effort by the Campaign for Southern Equality to support trans kids and their families impacted by the passing of recent anti-trans legislation. Working in tandem with state and local organizations, the STYEP will use your donation to provide “grants, patient navigation support, and accurate information” to families who’ve been impacted by the passing of these unjust, transphobic laws.

Why "our flag means death"?
While working as "Our Flag Means Death" star Con O'Neill's handler during the 2023 Miami Supercon, Feline Oracle creator Jessica Cohen was able to speak to hundreds of the kind, creative, and unique individuals that make up the show's fanbase.
During the weekend of the convention, several bigoted, unjust, and transphobic laws were about to go into affect in the state of Florida. Among them were laws specifically targeting queer and trans youth--limiting how they could present themselves, which bathrooms they could use, and whether they had access to gender affirming care.
In response to this horrible legislation, the many trans youths, their families, and LGBTQ+ allies that make up the “Our Flag Means Death” fandom joined together in solidarity. Throughout the weekend, the fans present at Miami Supercon displayed incredible compassion and bravery, supporting each other through a scary and difficult time for all LGBTQ+ people living in Florida.
While attacks on LGBTQ+ rights happen at an alarming rate across the southern U.S., it’s important to remember the incredible strength that was shown by the “Our Flag Means Death” fandom—and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole—on the weekend of Miami Supercon.
Joining together to show our support for queer rights in this way is an important part of fighting against bigoted unjust laws like the ones being introduced in Florida that weekend. That’s why the pirate flag design on Our Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project charity merch pays homage to the show “Our Flag Means Death” in order to honor the kindness, compassion, and allyship present in OFMD's diverse and wonderful fanbase.
